 back hoe hyd. pressure

I have a B8200(19hp)kubota tractor with a loader and BL-4520 back hoe. The hoe has it's own pump operated off the PTO.
When digging, the hoe seems to power out(stall)easily and the engine doesn't bog down even at partial throttle. I'm wondering if the pressure relief valve is adjustable or if something else might be causing this situation. The hyd. fluid is full and clean but probably old.

I don't think that the five gallon pump would alter the engine much. The pressures could also be off.

Hi--Thanks for your response. The back hoe is a kubota made unit, the BL-4520.
The tractor is a 1980 vintage but only has 275 hrs. I have an operators manual coming, but it probably won't have the hoe. I did find an adjustable relief knob for the loader, but it does not effect the hoe.

With the BH running off a PTO puimp, it will be completely independent of the FEL circuit. The pressure relief for the BH will be on the valve body. You will see a cup shaped cap on the valve. Remove the cap and there will be an adjustment screw on the PR valve. Make sure you put a pressure guage in the circuit before you adjust the pressure relief. Running at higher than spec. pressure can cause damage and be dangerous. The other possibility is the pump. When you have the pressure guage in the system, you will be able to presssure test the pump. Make sure the pump is able to develop the rated pressure.

I decided to go for it so I turned the pressure adjusting screw 1/2 turn in and voila I have the power I need. It is not alot more power, but enough to lift the rear of the tractor to get it un-stuck, if that were to happen.
I took a chance and did it blind(without a guage)---let's hope i didn't blow it.
