I can always count on u to give me the straight. Whats the best oil to use in my L3130, and best oil filter.

Also when I grease the forward axle support the grease fitting that is on the same side as the breather plug takes grease just fine, but the grease fitting on the back side doesn't push grease out anywhere, it just gets to the point to where you can hardly pump anymore in. Shouldn't come out the breather plug or somewhere???? txs 4 all ur help Art

Maybe this will help. All oils (except Amsoil) conform to known testing standards.

Read your manual. It will tell you to use something like CD or CF rated oil. Then read the label on the oil and make sure it meets that standard.

Last year, Deere brought out their own full synthetic diesel rated motor oil. When they brought it to the market they told us we could double the change interval from 100 to 200 hours and still maintain warranty coverage.

If a very conservative outfit like Deere says that then you gotta know that synthetics are the best thing out there.

For diesel engines I can't say enough about the CASE-IH engine motor oil for diesel or gas. I found it to be great in the Low Ash Formula for gas engines to stop valve burning. The Super UDT I don't know what it is but I do know so far there are no comparables. I used to think that Hytran had no equal but it hasn't proven to measure up in today's market.

When greasing sometimes you may have to use a jack to remove pressure from the area. Lift the part that holds the component to releive the pressures.

Gene, I didn't quite read all that you were asking. Harvey is right about trying to relieve potential stress on the pivot to allow grease to go in. With the old king pin fronts on cars and trucks it was standard to do that and not a bad idea to move any joint you might be greasing. On the filters, Kubota works thru Fleet Gaurd for there filters but they are a different filter from Kubota then you will get at a Fleet Gaurd dealer. I do stress to buy the best filter possible as well as the best oil. A little more on the Case-IH oil, they ran diesel engines at full throttle for 3000 hours non-stop at full load which far exceeds the normal government test. Gas engines went for 1500 hours with the ash removed. Ash is good for a diesel engine and bad for a gas!
