I have a model 3130 and it is turning off when I stand up in the seat. I realize it is supposed to if the pto is on or the tractor is in gear, but it is happening when the tractor is in neutral and the pto is off . The indicator lights are working properly on the instrument panel for the gear and the pto. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Try locking the parking brake.

I tried locking the parking brake and it did not work. This issue that I described just started. I have owned the tractor since April 2003 and as long as it was in neutral and the pto was off, I could climb off the tractor with it running and without the parking brake on. Any other ideas?

I've heard of this situation before, but not very often.

I seem to recall the switch that senses if the PTO is engaged or not is stuck in the 'engaged' position, therefore the unit thinks the PTO is running when it is not.

Best of luck.

I know they are there for safety, but bypassing those seat switches is the very first thing I do when I buy a machine. Never had them on a real farm tractor, don't want them on a small one. standing up while forking something up, or manuvering in tight quarters is a necessity for me. then it doesn't matter what other poorly engineered switch fails, they all use the seat switch as the master.

The range lever should work. To not do that you could accidently step on the hydro petal and still attempt to move.
