I wish my bx2200 had a folding ROPS!

I finally cleaned out the 14x24 shed/mini barn today with hopes to get the bx out of the garage and into the barn and put the $30,000 truck in the garage where it belongs. To my dismay my ROPS sticks up about 2" too high to fit! It would be a major project including new doors to make it fit. Does anyone know of an optional folding ROPS for the BX2200? I'd probably spend a few bucks on it if it were resonable. I'm 1/2 tempted to "fabricate" mine to fold (I think I just opened up a can of worms!). Has anyoen done this on a BX with luck? I just don't want to take it off all together but bob I wish it fit in the shed. 2 LOUSEY INCHES!

is the entrance dirt, if so, dig down 2 inches, and go slow if it snows.

It really should be no big deal to fab a folding rops if you have welding skills. If not hire someone. It is a project I plan for my JD, it hasn't not fit somewhere yet so I have been waiting for warmer weather. I have been looking at different manufacturers designs and right now, I kind of like the NH design. It has spring loaded pins so there is no fussing around with the pins like others I have seen. I know there will be a bunch of poo pooers of tampering with rops but be real. You own it and if you have it done well, there should not be a problem. I have looked at oem and they do not look overly strong on cuts. I know the job I do will be easily as strong as factory.

I'm looking at exactly the same problem with the bx1500 I bought today. I've heard it's not uncommon to fabricate a folding/segmented ROPS by cutting/welding/drilling/pinning etc without too much effort.

I'll be watching to see what ideas turn up on this subject.

Not a dirt floor, that would be too easy. The header and doors would need to be redone and The thing looks too good to mess up.

I figure the same deal, if it's done right then there should be no worries. The ROPS are nothing special to begin with. We had a Large Toyota forklift flip over at the place next door where I work and the guy bailed off. He was LUCKY he DIDN'T have his seatbelt on so he could bail. The ROPS squashed down like a tin can on this thing.

I am all for ROPS but the seatbelt will get you killed. You have to be able to bail out if it gets ugly!

You might want to check out the ROPS design on the BX23 TLB as this model has a foldable ROPS as standard equipment.

Even if you do fabricate folding ROPS you will still probably forget to put it down and drive through the header on your shed someday (I did).
