I'm trying to decide between a Kubota B2920 and the B7800 (only $100 difference). I like the fact that the 7800 is tried and true, but my dealer's quoting me MMMs and FELs at a higher price for the 7800 than the B2920 ($700 more for a 60" MMM; $900 more for the FEL + valve). Given these prices, I don't think I could justify the purchase of the 7800 given the increased price for the tractor and toys, but what other MMM options do I have? What companies make MMMs for the 2920 and the 7800? What models would you suggest? Thanks very much in advance for any advice.

-Brad

They almost all attach to the 3-pt&PTO, and that's standardized, so unless your tractor has a short wheelbase or low ground clearance, a variety SHOULD fit, but you never know until you try it (or someone else has). Not many makers offer them for non-specific tractors, but Bobcat has a new generic 54" for smaller compacts, and is coming out with wider ones for regular compacts.

IMHO no third party MMM fits unless its is actually installed on the machine you are buying and you are physically looking at it working flawlessly.

I second that emotion.

Too many variables under the tractor for a universal fit.

That leaves you with a generic mower for the rear of the tractor or a manufacturer-specific deck for under the tractor.

But there is a third option...... you can easily buy a separate riding mower for the less than the price of a mid-mount mowing deck.

Never has used a MMM but there is also a rear mount or RFM as an option and there the fit should be open to all brands.

At same time the seperate mower does have advantages. kt

I haven't priced a MMM for a compact lately, but did at one time price one for my 4310 Deere and ended up with a rear mount finish mower because of the cost difference. I'll agree with the others a good used rider would likely cost less than the MMM and not have the hassle of mounting and dismounting it. Frank.
