 Good Money for a B2150??

Have an opportunity to pick up an early '90's B2150HST 4wd w/60" mower and 48" blade for $5000. Has just over 900 hours. Starts and runs perfectly, but a lil bit of backpressure jerking in steering wheel when shut off. Slight over-run tendency when you let off forward pedal. Reverse is fine. 3pt and drawbar are in great shape, move, stop and start smoothly. Some cosmetic scratches, dings, etc. 4wd shifts in and out smoothly, pwr steering seems fine. Deck is in great shape, as is blade. Just need a small, dependable workhorse that can easily pull 40" tiller, drag around some timber and climb these danged Missouri hills. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hitech

You are not buying a new tractor. I seems you have looked this unit over pretty good. Talk some trash to the guy and maybe get a better deal. Invest into some tools because you will be using them. The extras are great 4wd is a plus that you will use if you get a FEL. Watch the roll over on the hills, it will roll over. Check on parts, filters and such. Does it come with a manual and associated items. Is there a dealer near you. Can it be fitted with a FEL. These are items I would question. Seems like a good deal from what you are telling me. Have fun.

 Good Money for a B2150??

Thanks for the link, I actually checked that out last night. Too much money for no attachments. But it IS superclean. Don't really worry about how nice it looks, just need it to run well and dependably. Besides, it's a bit too far to check out; been enough of a war just to get the better half to OK the funds for one here locally!

There is a Kubota dealer in my town and I work for a JD dealer doin' parts. This is a trade-in that we took in this week. Selling price is what our salesman gave for trade-in to a guy buying a new JD 757 zero-turn.
BTW checked the return spring due to the bleed over issue and it appears to only need a lil lubrication, possibly replacement.

Yes to the loader question, I believe Kubota's BF350 was the FEL originally available on this model.

Also, did all of the B2150's have the "BiSpeed Steering"? Nothing I search up online mentions it. Haven't really kept up over the years. Though orange is the only color I'm really interested in purchasing. I'm not real familiar with Kubota's product line, but I grew up running a B6200. This will be my first 4wd tractor.

 Good Money for a B2150??

It was a four hundred dollar option on those vintage tractors and they were on the deluxe B' models at that time. They have since dropped it as an option as they have increased the steering pivot to be close to what that system would give. Today they use it on the GR series which with a 54" mower gives a 34" inside diameter cut with four wheel drive!

HiTech -
The B__50 units were built, and built strong. All the parts are still very readily available.

I still have a B1750 with the BiSpeed turn. To be very honest, I hardly ever use it. The tractor has power steering as it is along with a front loader. I would imagine that if I would get into a REAL difficult spot to manuever, it might come in handy, but.....

That series is a TANK - they go on forever!
