I'm looking for a replacement for an old worn old International 434. I've narowed my search to Kioti DK40SE with a KL401 loader and Kubota L4400 with a LA703 loader. It looks to me like the Kioti is a bit bigger, much heavier tractor with better lift capicity. Financially the Kioti dealer is giving me a better deal than Kubota so is my first choice.

I'd like to hear anyones opinions on these tractors (either positve or negative).

It will used mainly to handle 4x5 foot round bales,( piled 3 high) skidding small trees, splitting firewood, and running a snowblower or pushing snow with a 6 foot blade.

Is it up to the task? Will I need extra weight in the rear when handling bales near the maximum lift capicity? How well do they work in the snow? Easy to start in winter or will it have to plugged in all the time?

Any and all comments appreciated.

Thanks

You bet. You will also enjoy the amenities such as extenable lift arms to make 3 point hook up easier, rear mount conrol for 3 point lift again, to make things easier. tilt wheel, multi adjustable suspension seat, excellent loader capacity with standard skid steer type quick attach system. But I am a dealer so you will probably want some users opinions as well... oh yeah, 4 year warranty.

I'm not real big on buying anything foreign made, but of all the non domestic brands Kubota has the best reputation for quality and a real good dealer network to service you down the road. Frank.

My DK 40 SE is a "Hoss"! I don't know about picking up round bales, because I don't know what they weigh,
but my Kioti loader picked up 1500 pounds with ease .....at idle! The engine was running as slow as it
would operate. It picked it up really fast as if it had no load at all. I had the backhoe mounted on the back
so I don't know if it would tip forward. Most people around here, who move a lot of hay, use the 3 point and the loader
so that you have weight front and rear.
My tractor seems to have enough power to tear something up. I really watch what I'm doing when I have it loaded.
It has a lot power to the hydraulics and to the wheels.
I live in Texas so I have only started it at about 29 degrees, but it fired right up. I would imagine it would start in cold
about as well as any. After 35 years in the excavation business, I found that synthetic oil helps an engine start
in cold weather as it flows better at low temperatures. I'm running Amsoil 5w-40 Synthetic Diesel oil.
The Kubota tractors are excellent and a lot of people are using them in the area (Central Texas) where I live.
You probably would not go wrong buying a Kubota. They were one of the tractors I checked out before I bought
my Kioti. They are well made and seem to last a long time. They were my second choice.
I found the Kioti to be a very heavy constructed, easy to operate piece of equipment. It is well designed and I really
like all of the features. I liked it the day I brought it home, and after 38 hours I think I've "Fallin' in Love"!
It sure saves me a lot of work. With one tractor I can mow, backhoe, have a front loader or forklift, plow, disc, blade,
or dig post holes just by changing attachments. It is very handy.
Also, I really like my dealer. I bought it from Cosper Tractor in Burleson, Texas. They are a small, family owned business
and they have been very fair with me. I'm 100% happy with the tractor and the dealer.
