 ck20 will it load a 1ton dually?

I was looking hard at the BX23 and like it alot, but it does not seem to have the lift height to load my Dually with dump insert. The insert sets at 64" and the BX could get in, but not turn over the bucket.

I have been reading voraciously these forums and notice the greater lift height on the CK20. It looks like a little bruiser! I know it will get high enough, but will it go out far enough with height to dump in the bed. It says it's reach at max height is only a bit over 19 inches. I am afraid that is not enough to cover the distance over the wheels and dump. Will she extend out far enough and still have the height? Any ideas would be great!

Thanks

You would not be able to get over the center of the bed at maximum heighth. You could dump at max heighth but only if the pile is no more than 5" over the sides.
You could dump in the center the first load but after that it would be difficult.
It is a bit hard to determine with the values for most loaders, for example the loader on the NH TC30 has a higher lift and heighth when curled but it has only a 12" reach at this point. You almost need to try it to tell.

Depending on your uses one or the other might work better for you for the chosen chores. I'd not be using either of those tractors for that job. A tractor with a larger frame is needed here for the reach as well as height. An L-series Kubota would be a good choice.

I really like the L-series units, but their great size concerns me in confined areas. I really liked the BX for it's manuverability in tight spots. I will need to get in back yards and have some movement to utilize the unit to the max. The big stong L will not be so impressive as I look over the fence with my shovel and see her setting nice and shiny on the trailer. I would sacrifice a some extra time in giving up some size to be able to use it on more jobs.

I still like the B7800, but think I will have the same loading issues with it as I would with many of the other units. I don't plan on loading the truck the majority of the time. There will be occasions when I need to remove stone, or sodd, but most of the time I will be dumping, or having material dumped on site for the tractor to fool with.

So heaping the truck is not vital, just getting into it and being able to safely drop stuff over the side.

Any other thoughts would be wonderful.

Thanks fellas!

get two, 4 X 4 pressure treated 8 ft lumber. Cut one in half, put a 45 degree angle and bolt to other 4 X4. You can hang these under the dump body by making brackets, chains, or? Place these next to truck, and use as lifting ramps. At least you will gain lot's of height and be able to unload deeper into the dump body.

If manuverability is an issue in back yards have you considered a NH with supersteer? Also in really tight residential yards some contractors have gone to something like a Dingo or Ramrod. I purchased my JD955 from contractor that had decided to make the switch.

I was originally looking at the Dingo tracked type units, but thought I could get alot more out of a tractor over the long haul. You are limited by the lift height on the dingo's as well. Seemed like Gehl's version of a mini skidster was pretty interesting. I also like the ASV loaders, but again I think I prefer a tractor to these. I would also like a unit that my wife could use on our property should she feel inclined.

I did not consider a New Holland, but will check into the Supersteer, thank you for the suggestion!

You guys are great.

I did some price checking and found some very good pricing on the ck20. Locally I can get one with a loader for 13,500, but if I go to the next state over I can get it for 12,500 with no sales tax. I value dealer support so if I go this route it will be a tough decision. It seems like a good price considering a B7800 would cost me over 16,000 locally and with the exception of the larger engine the ck20 seems to me a superior machine. Art may disagree Smile It certainly seems the ck20 is the equal of the 7800 as far as lift capacity goes, added weight, and some nice options like position control that would force me into the B3030 or L series which takes me into the $18,000 plus range.

Thanks fellas

If you are looking at the CK20, check out the larger
CK25/30 with the KL130 loader. In the $15K+ range and as good as the Kubs.
