When you say you don't want to cut into your bucket are you talking about drilling holes?

My backing plate is 1/2 inch thick. This is the third tractor I have mounted a center hook on, and the first one that hasn't BENT the bucket. ....

I like having a central point to pull from. You can tip the tractor pulling or hoisting a lot of weight off-center. ....

I will second the motion on putting to much weight on one side. This weekend I welded a hook on each side of my 210 loader. Well my 647 tiller also came in. So I was going to lift it off the trailer with the loader. It got it off fine but as I was driving towards the driveway the left rear tire came off the ground. Luckily I only had the tiller 6 inches off the ground in case that happened but what a spooky feeling. Now there will be a hook in the middle too. ....

Could I install one center J hook on the front setion between the front of the hinges with 1/2 inch plate and be OK?
I've got a rear 2X2 receiver and I guess I wouldn't need one on the Bucket, and would it be OK bolted on because I have no way og getting it welded on!
I hope I made myself clear as it's hard for me to explain ....

No problem my freind.... your dog is in the hunt. Your idea will work fine.

The forged eye hooks on the ends of my bucket have shackles and chain hooks that go on them. I had hoped to post a picture today but the laptop went a little wacky when I down-loaded the new anti-virus program.

I will post something tomorrow...... ....

A small stack of heavy washers.

I am thinking about getting a different style chain hook.... the kind with a clevis pin.... and mounting it straight to a grade 8 bolt.

Then the belly of the hook would rest on the surface of the loader and it would be less likely to torque/bend the loader bucket. ....

DRankin,
Thanks for the advice on the hook for my loader! I used 1/2" strap 4 1/2 wide by 62 1/2 long bolted on Bucket with 1/2 bolts, and the old man (me) is pretty proud. I painted it JD Green the only problem is I used Stainless Steel Hardwear and didn't paint them and they kinda stand out! Got anymore good features? Thanks again ....
