 j.d. 955 overheating?

after operating the roto-tiller for 15-20 minutes, the overheat light comes on my 955. i've been preparing my deer food plots and its been really dusty. should i "clean" out the tractor after dusty work?

It might be normal and the solution could be just reducing the ground speed a bit if the tiller is a bit large for the tractor. However, rad screens do have to be blown clean frequently when working in very dirty conditions.

My 955 overheats when I work it too hard mowing, 6 foot belly mower 12 in. tall heavy grass mowing to 3 inches at max forward speed in low range on hot days with some blockage of air from grass clippings. Just clean the radiator and or slow down.

StrmChzr, try removing the battery (probably has corrosion in that area that needs cleaning up) and pressure wash the radiator and transmission oil cooler. Just be reasonable with the pressure and how close you get with the washer wand. I would suspect the radiator is clogged.

Be sure to check the air cleaner also. I've had the radiator block off while tilling. Be careful with the pressure washer and stay straight on with the fins. I've managed to fold a few over when hitting them from the sides, but they did comb out with out breaking.
