 cart for tractor

Anyone know where I can find a decent sized utility cart to pull with my 650 tractor? I need it to haul wood, stones, and other stuff around the yard but I can only find those dinky carts for lawn tractors. Thanks in advance.

You might ceck with Northern Tool and Equipment. Also, JD makes a 15 cubic foot dump cart. I have one and it works fine.

You might look at a small utility trailer like a 5 x 8. It could be used for double duty. You could pull it behind you truck or car on the road and also use it around the yard.

I have a 4 x 8 trailer made by "Haulin". They also make 5 x 8 and are available at Lowe's. They have a tilt feature and usually are a flatbed designthat have stack pockets for making your own sides. They may also sell them with sides as well. They are inexpensive and OK, mine is over 10 years old. Another route is to use a cargo carrier attached to a receiver hitch. You can raise and lower it and don't have to bother with backing-up a trailer. You are limited in space and weight capacity of about 500lbs.

I made up a 'cart' for a friend's wife when she does the yard work. However, because she dislikes backing up with a trailer I made it in the design of a sulky. It turned out far better than her husband & I had hoped.

Basically it is a trailer that connects to both lift arms, locking it straight behind the tractor. Instead of an axle I put a large caster wheel (4.10/4, 350 # cap. each) in each rear corner. It has a fixed front wall & sides and a lift out tailgate of sheet metal. I figure it has a maximum capacity of about 1500 pounds, certainly more than will ever be necessary.

The 3pth also raises the front enough to dump out soil or debris by pivoting it up over the two caster wheels.

She loves it, wherever the tractor goes it follows, forward or reverse.

Best of luck.

TSC also has small utility trailers with a dump feature that would be pretty versatile. They are asking around $325 for them. They have high speed axles and hubs for over highway use also.

Important safety tip:
Make sure the tractor you're pulling a cart or trailer with will handle the weight of the trailer and the load.
Also be extra careful on wet grassy slopes and other slick surfaces.

I was hauling dirt on a trailer with a lawn tractor. I was about fifteen to 20 feet from the road on a DRY concrete driveway headed slightly up hill when the tractor lost traction.
Next thing I knew the trailer was dragging the tractor backwards down the drive headed straight out into the highway. I Had the tractor brakes locked on tight the trailer just kept dragging the tractor anyway. You should have heard the tires squealing on the wheels of the tractor.'
As luck would have it there was a pretty good v dip where the edge of the road met the end of the driveway. When the trailer wheels hit this v dip it stopped the trailer.
If it hadn't been for that dip I would have been drug out onto the highway and could have gotten ran over by traffic.
