John Deere 670 and 5 ft bush hog

I am considering to buy a John Deere 670 (18.5 hp) w/60" belly mower for about $6,250.

My question is can it run a 5 ft bush hog?
I would like to add a loader to the tractor -- how much will I have to spend?

Also - would appreciate opinion about your experience with the 670.

Thanks

The generally accepted notion is that you would need a minimum of 20 PTO ponies to run a 5 ft brush cutter.

A certain amount of tractor length and mass is required also as long, heavy cutter creates a large imbalance.

What year is it? How many hours are on it? Is it 4WD? You wouldn't want to put a loader on it if it's 2WD. I also think a 5 foot bush hog would be a little much for it.

I wouldn't go over a 42" model for a brush hog. That tractor has a very small pto hp rating. MMM don't take as much power to turn as a brush hog. I see your in maryland, I just happen to have a 42" landpride for sale. Its located in Mt. Airy. see classifieds.

I have only ran a 655, not a 670, but the 670 is the gear drive version of the 655. A loader is hard to find. I would recomend built one your self. The guy i bought my 48" landpride off of built one for his 850. You could get an after market one. Let us know if you get it.
