I think the JD-44 loader may fit a 318 (not completely sure on that). I know the 44 fits the JD 420/430 series LGT Tractors. I have one on my 430. They work OK (but not great). Loader is built like a tank however I find the tractor is too light to do any serious work with them. OK for moving loose material and snow removal. I don't know of a source for one off hand however I have enclosed a website that may be of interest to you. Good Luck.Mark ....

Tom, If you are handy with an arc welder or know someone who is. You can take a look at www.cadplans.com. You can buy just the plans or complete steel kits in two or three different stages, either lengths or cut or cut and drilled. The plans are around $120, but when you look at the rediculous amounts they want for garden tractor loaders you can still save a lot of$$$Good luck,Joe C. ....
