 655 downsize to X595

My 655 is too big for me property.
Is the X595 a good downsize alternative?
How about compared to the Kubota BX1500.
I need mower/bagger, bucket.
Thans

The Bx1500 or the BX2200 would be good economical full featured replacements.

Would you(anyone) happen to know or know where to find the weight of the JD 655. I'm looking at getting one but would have to have it shipped. Thanks.

tdownin1, the X595 is a mighty expensive garden tractor. A good deal on one with a diesel & 62" mower would in the $10,800 range. Figure around $900 more for the 7 bushel hopper set up. Figure around another $2,900 for a 45 loader and ballast box. The X595 is the top of the line for the green garden tractors and is a damn nice tractor with about every concievable bell and whistle. If the price does not bother you and you want a smaller in size, it is the big ka hoonha. You can be more tractor for the same of less money but bigger tractors. The BX 2200 & 1500 are roughly comparable more the 2200. Look on the Kubota and John Deere web sites and compare features and look at the pricing. You would be wise to go and demo both color tractors before buying and make a head to head comparison. Then go with the one that suits your needs and wallet best.

I will say this if your down sizing look at a JD2210 over a JD X595 you get more tractor for the price you will pay I paid $13,721 for a JD X485 with these extras a 45loader,Limited Cat1 3point hitch,540rpm rear pto,48inch deck, hyudrostatic relife valve and diverter valve and cat1 ballest box. All of that was 12% off msrp. The JD 2210 comes with the 3point hitch, rear and mid pto's as standard equipment for $10,200 at Msrp add another $1,229 for 54inch deck or $1,599 for 62inch deck and about $2,500 for the loader for the JD2210 and it come out either cheaper or about the same price as a JDX485 with all the stuff you would have to pay extra for on the X series. So if you want to stay with JD I would look at the JD2210

Or you could get the BX and save some more money and buy the number one sub-compact in the country-- they truely are nearly the same size as the x-series.

Art: Have you heard much of a problem with the BX 2200 running hot? I had one for about two years, put a 1000 hours on it, but it constantly ran hot once the temperature past 85 degrees. Finally got fed up and bought two of the JD 2210s.
