 John Deere 4310 - 441- 990 -PRICE

I have been helped by a couple of fellows today and they
really gave me some great advice on buying used. I would like to ask if anyone has bought one of these tractors recently with a loader and what kind of price they had to pay. I am trying to see if it is really worth the difference in buying used. Thanks to all

 John Deere 4310 - 441- 990 -PRICE

On the first of July I paid $19555 for an MFWD 4310 with eHydro, R4s, folding ROPS and a 430 loader with 61" heavy duty bucket, replaceable bolt-on cutting edge, and hood guard. I did not think this was a wonderful price but the dealer is great and is close by so that was worth some extra to me.

Chief - Sorry I had to leave ya when things were getting so good. Been getting a lot of feedback on the tractors. I wish Dennis would have gave me a few pointers when I started it sure would have helped. I was pretty much left on my own. Maybe a short set of directions would help new
folks to the site. Do you think you got a good deal because
you bought so many items? Also is the warranty pretty helpful?

I was just kidding you about Dennis and the newspaper thing. I have done the same thing a couple of times not realizing what happened.

I got a good deal primarily because the salesman handling the sale and I are Army buddies. It does help to get a better price over all if you buy impliments when you buy the tractor. As far as the warranty, I have used it to replace a steering wheel cap that kept falling off and that is about it. Most of the problems that have arisen I taken care of myself. I would rather that I am the only one who works on my tractor if possible. The warranty is not so much the important issue as much as the dealers attitude towards customer satisfaction that makes the warranty. So far I give the dealer AAA+ for their support. If the dealer has a bad attitude, you don't want to buy from him if possible.

Chief -sure--just wish Dennis would have given some directions before getting critical. Maybe a small introductory fact sheet. As I look at the prices the three of you paid it does seem like the basic price for a 4310 just might be quite high. All of you that responded have ordered a lot of extra things. Did you mention the tax deduction or was that one of the others? Would that not apply even if the tractor is used?

Although interesting, it really doesn't matter a great deal what others paid for their tractors. What matters is what YOU can buy one for and you won't know until you call a few dealers in your area and get some price quotes. In my area one fairly large company has dealerships all over the place so price competition for JD machines is stifled to some extent. There are also regional differences - where cost of living is high (Like NY, CA, OR, etc) these things will cost more. Prices will be higher in hot markets, lower in slow ones. I believe prices will generally be lower in the wintertime since spring and summer are the hot times of year for sales. If a dealer is overstocked they will deal more, but if they can't keep 'em on the lot you will pay more. There are a lot of factors to getting a good deal and you won't know what YOU can do in your area until you talk to a few dealers.
