 4300 hydro won't run

Got a 4300 hydro (early model) with only 230 hours on it used primarly for cutting grass and plowing snow. Over the weekend while cutting it just stopped, almost like I got up off the seat w/ the pto on. I checked all the safety switches I could find. Checked the fuses. Checked the relays. Looked for loose conections, found none. The dash lights come on, but it doesn't turn over. Any ideas on how to get mowing again, grass is getting pretty high!

You might describe how the safety switches were checked. There have been problems with seat and fuel cut-off solenoids. Generally a wiring diagram is needed to test the switches unless somebody who knows the tractor is able to describe the connections exactly.

 4300 hydro won't run

I by-passed the seat safty switch, jumpered the switches for the pto, hydro peddles, checked the fuses and relays
still nothing. Other than buying the service manual from
the dealer is there any wiring diagrams out on the internet? And any ideas on what else to check, like whats this fuel solinoid? and would that stop it from turning over?

 4300 hydro won't run

HGregC,
I have had a similar problem with my 4300. There is a saftey switch that is for the gas pedal. If you look up underneath near the pedal you should see this switch. I would shove a screwdriver up into make the switch activate. O ended up just eliminateing the switch by jumpering it out by tracing the wiring up behind the fuse box. I now can remove the jumper pretty easy if I want to leave the tractor out in the field and not worry about any one stealing it....... good Luck....

Manufacturers keep wiring diagrams pretty close to their chests. Many after-market manuals don't have them and I'm not aware of Internet sources.

There was a recent discussion here about trouble shooting a starter solenoid. It might have been for a JD and some of the wiring was described. The starter switch itself could be the problem although you wouldn't expect it on a new tractor.
