 2210 pre purchae questions

I am strongly considering the purchase of a new 2210 with a 54” MMM and a FEL. The total including sales tax is close to $12,800. I think it is a fair deal. I would appreciate some comments to these questions.

I read the Frontier attachments are made by Woods. Are they as good as Woods branded attachments? I am considering the 647 tiller also. Is it a well built piece? I don’t know the price of the IMATCH quick attach but is it worth the money?

I will be using the set up to mow with mainly. I need some help with the best tire choice. I was told there are three tire types offered. The chevron bar, turf tires and another all season type tread. Part of the property being mowed has a steep bank and I wanted a 4WD tractor to hold back while descending the bank. I don’t want it too slip ascending the bank either. I am a little afraid of the turf and the bar types, one being too skimpy and the other too aggressive. Anyone help me out?

 2210 pre purchae questions

About the Frontier equipment. I am not sure how much of the Frontier line is Woods. From what I have found the box blades are, and I believe they are an exact copy in green paint. The post hole diggers are made by BEFCO. This would lead me to think that John Deere may put out for bid each piece of equipment.

 2210 pre purchae questions

Firstly that is a GREAT price. The tractors with SCV here average $9,500 and a great price on the loader is 2k. I have the iMatch it retails for $220 and was worth every penny. There are two tire choices that I capitulated about when I bought mine as well. I took the advice I got here and stuck with the turfs. I am way more than happy that I did. I have used my FEL to move snow 3' deep, till, work in the woods and I have yet to wish I had bought the bars. I even had this baby buried in Mud up to the floor boards. I did get momentarily stuck but I seriously doubt bars would have helped. One thing t mention is that the bar tires for THIS model are NOT heavier, ie the wall thickness is 4 ply on both tires. I have a frontier 1250 tiller that I put to the test recently and I am very pleased with it. It was not made by Howard. There are small USG Holland stickers on it and it appeaes to have been made in Italy.

I have had my 2210 for about five-weeks. I chose the turf tires, and the 62” MMM. I also, had the dealer include a Frontier 48” box blade. Everything works great. Paid $11,760 (including tax).

 2210 pre purchae questions

I recently purchased a 2210, and mine has the turf tires. I also purchased it with a loader, and a 62" mid-mount deck. I haven't had it on a hill, but it appears to have more than enough bite for the loader. I can dig without any problems. I also purchased a 60" box scraper, and it works fine with that as well. I think you may be happy with the turf tires. The tractor is heavy enough, and the four wheel drive does the rest.
