Color me green - 4310 is ordered!

Thanks to all here for sharing their patience and experienced advice with a newbie like me!

After lots of research between Kubota, NH, and Deere I finally decided on the JD 4310 and placed the order this morning. The JD package was the highest price of all of them, but the dealer seems great and is the closest. Kubota was about $400 less but the only decent Kubota dealer I found was 60 miles away. NH was a few thousand less and the dealer was great but I thought the TC33D just didn't have the specs of the other machines (loader specs, weight, etc), although SuperSteer was sure tempting.

The package includes a 4310 MFWD eHydro, loaded R4s, folding ROPS, Spark arrestor kit, I-Match, DSCValves, 3rd, 4th, and 5th SCV, Top and Tilt, 430 loader, 61" heavy duty bucket with cutting edge, BoDozer 5' grapple, MX5 rotary cutter with slip clutch, Frontier medium duty 72" box scraper, parts & service manuals, setup and delivery. The Tim Taylor in me wanted to spring for the 4410 instead, but I couldn't see spending an extra $1525 for three hp.

I don't know how I'll sleep for the three weeks until it's delivered. They better include the hats or the deal is off!

Congrats kwschumm, I know you'll enjoy it.

I do remember a thread you started about the 4xxx electronics long-term viability. What convinced you to go JD? Just curious. I know you asked a lot of questions and was apprehensive about the electronics (which is good).

Welcome to the green paint club. It takes a bit of shopping some times but the cheapest price is certainly not always the best deal. enjoy !

Billy, that's a good question. Comparable Kubota tractors like the 3130 have electronic instrument panels and they'd have the same issues. The only electronics in the TC33D seemed to be in the cruise control, but it just didn't have the weight and loader I wanted. Other brands like Branson, Kioti, Century, etc. don't have much of a presence in our area so I discounted those. I guess I figured if all the tractors I wanted had electronics then I'd go with the company that has a reputation for long-term parts availability. The decision was not totally objective either - I really liked the look and feel of the 4310 and the dealer was great so those issues played a big part.

Just be sure and clean those metal shavings out on your first fluid change.... Just kidding. Enjoy your tractor as we all do.

slowrev, it's funny you should mention that. The dealer told me up front that the metal shavings had to be cleaned out at the first service. I guess it's good that they're up front about it, but like everyone else I'd prefer that they clean this stuff out during the manufacturing process.

Hey slowrev, were you really kidding? I don't think so. By the way, Kubota has those same metal shavings.

Congratulations on the new tractor and equipment. Now you are going to need an equipment building to house all of that stuff! ;o) Sounds like you cleaned them out. I am sure you will be very happy with this machine.

No kidding Chief. The first job of the tractor will be to clear out and level an area for a new pole barn. I can see how a guy could go broke buying all these toys...
