 4310/4410 Ground Clearance

Kubota's web site has a tractor comparison feature I used to compare the Kubota L3430, JD 4310, and NH TC33D. It shows the 4310 as having 10.5" of ground clearance and the TC33D as having 14". The NH number jives with NH specs, but JD doesn't publish a ground clearance number that I can find. Anyone know how they got this number? Does it seem right? 4" seems like a big difference.

That sounds about right but is subjective depending on size & type tires used. I have the R-4 tires and that is about the distance to the bottom of the draw bar which would be the lowest point.

Something is fishy in Kubotaland. The comparison indicates that the 4310 has 7-16 front and 12.4-24 rear tires (no type specified), but the JD brochure doesn't show those sizes as being offered.

kws... Those tires for the JD sound like R-1 tires. I did not look it up. That would be close to the size for my 4400. BTW me thinks the 4400 has just a tad larger tire than the 4300 or 10 series, whatever. That was why I went with the 4400, beefer rubber.

Unless you are working in the woods or hilling potatos ground clearance is a minor point. You'll always find something 1/2" higher than your lowest point on tractor.

I have problems with old stumps and boulders in the woods with my old "M".
