What's the better engine? The fuel injected Kawasaki sounds like an easy starting, efficient engine. And 25hp is healthy. What is the reputation for this engine's durability? The Yanmar diesel looks good too. Nice power, and torque should be great. How long does it take the glow plugs to heat up and at what temperature does starting become difficult? Finally, how many hours can I expect from either engine?

Which would you get?

Thanks!

Yanmar makes some of the best diesel engines on the planet.

I have often wondered what it would be like to transplant a 40 or 50 HP 4 cylinder Yanmar diesel into a CJ or MB jeep and then go rock crawling.

If I were looking at these units, the diesel would win hands down. ....

Lister:

Can't speak for the Yanmar diesel, but I have a JD 445 with f/i Kawasaki with 1750 hours on it and it still runs great.
