Well I've had my 4300 for about a month, only got a about 25 hours on it . I got the 4300 collar shift with 430 loader. I have to say I'm not really pleased with it. Overall it seems to be a well made machine, engine starts up easy, has good power, the loader is very powerful, but complaint is the gears and I believe it's a flaw in their design. First day I got it I noticed that it was hard to get it into reverse, or it popped out of reverse. There were a couple of other minor problems, so I decided to wait a week or so before calling the dealer with them, just in case it just needed some breaking in. The service guy at the dealer told me the problem with reverse is that the plastic panel that fits around the range shift handle is too big and so the gear shift handle can't go all the way into gear. He gave me the option of a modification kit ( a new, smaller piece of plastic) or just cutting a piece off the existing panel to shorten it ( I did that, just nibbled away at it with pliers till I got where reverse worked). But the whole gear system on it seems screwy to me, the speed range lever is very hard to use because theres really no way to tell what range you're in for sure, you just have to keep moving it back and forth and letting out the clutch to see if it'll move. Also when the range shift is in low range, it is all the way forward, which means if you shift the gearshift into reverse it bangs into the range lever, and one or the other may get knocked out of place. In general , no matter how careful I am when shifting , it seems like half the time the gears grind or it feels like its in gear, untill i let out the clutch and nope, its not moving. The dealer seems to have a good reputation, but I'm hesitant to pay $50 to have them come pick it up , then have it sitting on the lot for a week or so waiting for the service dept, then have them tell me after all that , that I just don't know how to shift properly or some other runaround. I've already sent it back once because the 4wd lever gets jammed real tight and sometimes is very hard to move into or out of 4wd, they said they were aware of problems with that, but all I could do is just keeping moving a few feet forward or a few feet back and trying the lever again till it shifts. Not much help if your already stuck.Anyway, these are just my opinions, based on experience with it so far. Perhaps others have experiences they can share with us. Next time though, I'm gonna get a hydro trans, even if I have to go to Kubota.

I can't believe you're paying 50 bucks for a dealer to come and pick up your tractor to do warrenty work on a new unit with 25 hrs.I've owned a Kubota since 94,and our dealer will come and pick up the tractor for something as minor as a oil change for no charge or pick-up fee what so ever.Deliver it back, washed, and ready to go.On Deere's behalf, I think they would do the same good service.I guess we're lucky to live in a small community were competition is high for a sale, and service is very good.

I agree they should not charge for pick-up and delivery. I had some warenty work done on my 4300 and they picked it up for no charge. Not sure how long the repairs took as I was out of town.

after looking at all the machines i just ordered(yesterday) a kuboata 4310 with the power shift transmission. you can shift without the clutch but you dont loose the power as with the hydro. hope your machine workds out.
