 Installation/Removal Ease

I am shopping for a Tractor/Loader/Mower combo. I haven't narrowed it beyond Deere, New Holland and possibly Kubota, but I prefer the more contemporary looks and ergonomics of Deere and New Holland. I own 10 acres of land I will be building on soon. I will need to finish mow appx. 3-3 1/2 acres, push snow and do various loader work. Maybe mow the balance of the land as a pasture if I stop having it planted. My wife will probably do alot of the mowing as she enjoys it and came from a farm as a young person. We think we want a mid-mount-mower. My question is, "Which of these three brands is easiest to install and remove the MMM and while were at it, what about ease of installation and removal of front-end-loaders? Thank you for your opinions. It seems like I have been on the verge of buying a tractor for 8 months now, but I am not on the land yet, but I also keep having just one more issue to resolve in order to make a decision! Thanks again.

 Installation/Removal Ease

Alan: We bought a John Deere 4200 tractor with a 72" mid-mount mower and a 420 loader. We looked at several brands before purchasing, and the Deere salesman was the only one who was excited about demonstrating the ease of removal of the loader and mid-mount deck. (Tom Bowen, Ag-Power, Terrell, Texas). The loader can be removed from the tractor is about 1 1/2 minutes (add another 2 minutes to disconnect the quick-release hoses, put the protective caps in place, and remount the tractor). I don't have to put park stands in place or use any tools to do this. I am 23 years old, stand 5'6" tall and weigh about 115 pounds, and can remove the mower deck by myself. It is a simple procedure of turning the wheels on the deck 90 degrees, let it down to the ground, disconnect the driveshaft (twist & pull), pull a couple of spring-loaded pins and turn them, then roll the deck out from under the tractor. If you go with the mm deck, you will need to stick with either turf tires or at best, the R4 industrial tires, as, according to the salesman, the regular tractor tires will interfere with the mid-mount deck operations. If you are in wet sticky soil, you may want to consider regular tractor tires and a rear-mount mower deck (this was what was recommended to us). Also, buy the HST! We love ours!
