 Telescopic Links

Just got the telescopic links for my 4700 today. Haven't put them on the tractor yet but they're going to be great. They're better than the ones on the 5000 series (easier to use). David

Warren--telescoping draft links have ends that can be extended about 5 inches by lifting a release on each one. This allows a person to more easily line up the draft links to a 3-pt mounted implement--especially if it is heavy and you didn't quite get the tractor back far enough to make the connection. Once the implement is raised, then it is a simple matter to push on the implement to lock the extendable link in position. I have them on my new 4400 and think they are well worth the cost. If interested and you live near a Boomer dealer, take a look at any of the TCxxD Boomers--those with the "D" in their model number come standard with extendable draft links. Mike_S.

 Telescopic Links

I could have used telescoping lower links last summer. I kept the tractor and some implements at our camp and chained everything together for some security. The implements were clustered close enough that the tractor couldn't be backed up square to some implements. The result was that I couldn't move the tractor, so I had to move the implements. A 5' steel pry-bar and a set of 10"x10" blocks became almost as valuable as the tractor to me. A pry-bar and blocks would still be good things to have, even with telescoping links, but the links sure would have made some parts of my summer easier. ‘Course, it’s doubtful I could find some for my mid-80’s 1710.
