I just purchased a new oil filter for my JD 755. The new filter is a M806418 which is substantially smaller in all dimensions than the one in place a #AM101378. The dealer mentioned that this was a replacement but it doesn't look right. Anyone else run into this. I've already got the oil drained and filter removed. Thanks in advance. I guess I could check tomorrow with another dealer.

I had the same thing occur on my 4100. I have used both filters and had no problem with either of them but I do prefer the larger filter for better filtration. I think that my 4100 uses the same oil filter numbers that you have listed by the way. ....

Thomas,
I had the same experience with my 670. New part number, smaller filter. While i too would prefer the larger filter (size matters) I had no problem with it. If it bothers you, I guess you could cut your oil change interval. It wouldn't cost that much money.
