I must relate my experience with this board and my dealer (Twin Rivers Turf & Tractor) in New Bern, NC. I now have 20 hours on my new new 4600 w/460 loader. While in the process of negeotations i was assured that i would recieve the new front axle that through this board that i found was available. When it delivers i was in doubt. Being the good dealer Twin rivers sent me a copy of the bulliten and interestingly enough my s/n fell within the range of the new front axle. But the included picture showed it was the old style. My dealer made a few phone calls to JD and a week later i had a New New 4600. It seems JD wanted to do a retrofit and my dealer said NO WAY and replaced the whole tractor outright. PS: The new Axle is much better on the turf.

Purchased A 4600 4 drive with front end loader. When using the front end loader
with the 4 wheel drive the front mount with 12 mm bolts come loose and breakoff.
Have contacted J D numerous times with no respond.

I have about 80 hours on mine and have had no such problem. I did have 2 of the 16 frame bolts back out. They were side by side and i suspect a monday morning problem. I thghtened them and they havent done it again.

The Loader has been used heavaly and the bucket shows the ware. It is bent up and beginning to split at the top where the metal is fatuiged. But then concreat sidewalks, stumps and foundations dont give much. Abuse is no doubt the culprit.

Check your 4 wheel . The bolts will start coming loose , break and as more
hours are put on Tractor. The 12 mm bolts wear out the threads first. These
bolts are not strong enough for the torque placed on it by the use of the 4
drive.

I have heard from several other persons having the problem.

I am not sure of which bolts you refer to. Is it the hubs on the front axl or some other location?

The 16 ,12mm bolt is attached to the block, It holds the brackets that the 4 drive is mounted on with the 4 wheel drive gear box. Therefore all the weight and torque is on these bolts. They will fail that is to much to expect from the 12mm bolts. Additional framing to support the 4 wheel drive is needed.
