 JD75 loader info needed

I have a lead on a used JD75 loader, previously mounted on a JD950 tractor. I'd like to get this for my JD850, but frankly don't know much about the model 75 loader. How does this compare to the 70 or 70A? Since it was mounted on a 950, I assume it will also mount on my 850. Yes, I'm aware of the differences between the early and late 850s and 950s in loader mounting and SCV configuration.

Joe, I have a 75 loader on my 950. I am pleased with it's performance. Don't know much about the 70 or 70A. I would say the 75 loader is built better since the loader is not of the quick attachment type. It literally bolts to the frame of the tractor. According to the JD 75 owner's manual (OM-W21459 Issue C9) the loader ift capacity is rated at 750 lbs. (This varies as what size tractor it's going on. Breakout capacity is at 1710 lbs. Loader weight is 883 lbs! Clearance of bucket when level and dumped: 87 and 75 inches respectively (again depends on tractor/tire size). The only other thing I can recommend to you is that loaded tires and power steering are a must for adequate performance. Hope this information helps and Good Luck on the project.

Joe, I have a copy of the 1983 JD Grounds Care Equipment Purchasing Guide that has the specs for the 75 loader. It lists the 75 loader as being for the 850, 950, and 1050 tractors. It is a good one as I bought an 83 1050 and just traded it last Dec. Was very happy with the loader except for when I asked it to do more than it was supposed to! Had no problems with it other than replace a couple of hydraulic hoses whose leaks were my fault. I also have an 89 Purchasing guide that has the 70 loader in it. Would be happy to look up specific questions or fax or mail page copies.
Eben
