What Kubota or Deere Tractor models to buy

We want to buy a used Kubota or Deere tractor, 50-60 HP.

We're building a lot of fences on our property in CT, we'll need the loader and backhoe attachment to start.

Can anyone help me out with what models to start looking at?

Thanks

Wouldn't a posthole auger serve you better than a hoe?

It's better to have a bit too big than too small, but for fencing, do you really need that big?

I'd talk with local dealers to start.

originally we figured on a posthole digger. The ground here is mainly rocks, though, and we'd still have to dig them out by hand....

thanks

They are operator controlled hydraulic valves. A valve is needed for each function, for example on a loader one valve would control the lift cylinders and another would control the bucket curl cylinders. Often they are stacked together and operated with a joystick (forward/back to raise and lower loader and right/left to tilt the bucket up and down).

Sometimes a single SCV can control a couple of circuits with a diverter valve. The diverter would switch from one circuit to another.

You might want to look at a post driver for your fence work. They work quite nice in stoney areas.
Kubota M-series have proven to be a great series of tractors and would fit your needs well. Plus they are some of the best cold weather starting tractors I've seen even without being plugged in if it will get snow removal duties.

Thanks you guys.....
there is a post driver at another farm the company runs, i'm trying to find out what sie/kind it is.

We're now trying to decide between a Deere 5225 and a K5240

I know all makes/models are vastly different, but these are the two we've researched that are compatible with our needs.

We now have to decide between the two. This is our first tractor, and we'll be doing a lot of different things with it, digging, loading, some tilling, spreading, seeding and haying down the line.

the Deere is a 56HP and the K is 52.
People are telling me the Deere is more reliable, better for all-around work.
But a lot of people are partial to Kubotas.

If one of you had to decide between these two tractors for un-specified, start up general farm work, what would you do?
I know this is a very hard question to answer....but bear in mind, I am very new to this...

thanks
