 condition of new equipment

I went to the dealer last night and looked at my tractor and equipment that supposedly "just got off the truck"..."fresh from the factory". QUESTION: is it typical for the tractor and equipment to show up scratched, soiled, and slightly rusted?...does the dealer install the loader?...the tires??... I'm due to take delivery tomorrow morning...should I??...thanx in advance for the help...

Andy, Personally, I'd only be concerned with what it looked like when delivered, but yes, I understand most of the compacts arrive at the dealership in a crate with no tires or wheels. I know my dealer installs the tires and wheels and front end loaders at the dealership, and while I was not around when they were preparing mine, my brother was, and told me about seeing them touching up the paint. They did a good enough job that I don't see just where they touched it up.

Andy, I agree with Bird. Most tractors I see are shipped on open flat-beds, which exposes them to rain, snow, road salt, and dirt, not to mention sea-gulls. If they are imported, who knows what they see at the dock and on the ship. I would expect the dealer to have the tractor looking good on delivery.

I agree, Andy. One of those things that we think shouldn't be, but doubt that we can do anything about it.

I don't know about Red or Green, but Boomers are delivered to the dealer via flatbed trailer with tires mounted. Seat & controls are covered in plastic, some road dust, but the tractors look "brand New", like a new penny. Loaders are added by the dealer. Boomers are moving so fast at the dealers here in TN, they don't have time to rust. I checked my TC25D with a finetooth comb, and didn't find a scratch. If it's got rust, makes you wonder.
Robert
