I am considering buying a used JD4310 that has a 430 loader and a 47 backhoe. It only has 400 hours. It is a 2001 or a 2002 model. Does $17,000 seem like a good price? I have used it before doing construction work in housing areas. It is great for working in small places. However, the 47 backhoe downrigger cylinders have become weak and will no longer raise the back wheels off the ground without using the backhoe boom to help out. Also, the downrigger brackets have been bent a little. I am guessing from overworking the backhoe.

That sounds like a good price but I'd be concern of the backhoe's condition. I suggest that you get a cost estimate on repairing it. Otherwise it may not be a great price. ....

Getting a repair estimate first is a good idea. For that price you could afford to put a few thousand into repairs. New that rig would be more than $25k. The hydraulic cylinders should be fairly easy to remove and take to a hydraulic shop to have rebuilt. ....
