 JD2210 3ph Question

Iím in the market for a small tractor. Iíve looked at many and eliminated a few from the pack thus far. Iíve looked at specís but now Iím after information that doesnít show up in specs that you guys ought to be able to help with.

Among others, Iím considering the JD2210 / 2305 and the Kubota BX2230. Iíve heard complaints about the BX2230 3ph being a little too close to the ground thus not able to lift some implements high enough. I havenít heard these remarks on the 2210 or NH machine types like the TZ22 but since these also look to be the size of the BX2230 Iím wondering if any owners here can comment on that.

Iím also looking at a Kubota B7510 with a true cat 1 3ph just to avoid issues such as this years down the road.

 JD2210 3ph Question

Phil,

The 2210/2305 are also sub-CUT's with limited 3PH lift height. I do know of owners that are using PHD's and Brush Hog's with it, so the height may not be as big a factor as you think. What is your intended usage?

Cheers

 JD2210 3ph Question

My usage will be lawn mowing, gravel drive maintenance, snow removal, and a host of landscape projects on about 3 acres. Since I am looking at this as an extremely long lived purchase, I want try to get something that will not present problems with implements down the road.

 JD2210 3ph Question

The differences compared to a full CUT will be with things like a Box Blade (you will probably need a shallow one designed for a sub-CUT, but it will still do a good job), and this will go for all the attachments on down the line, it will have to be sized for your tractor. However, you will be able to run a 50" tiller, the loader will have decent lift capacity etc. If a backhoe is in your plans, you might want to look at larger machines (the Kubota does offer this, and there are aftermarket models for the Deere), but if that is an intended use, then I recommend you look larger. As for mowing, a sub-CUT does and excellent job at this. If I were you, I would think carefully about your usage, test drive several machines and colors, think about dealer support, and then make your decision.

Happy hunting!

Cheers

 JD2210 3ph Question

I have the JD 2210 and extremely happy with the loader capacity. If you look at my pics you will see the massive amount of dirt I moved with the 2210 to make the back yard at the home. Lift Height of 3 pt attachments is a possible problem. I have had clearence problems when crossing small ditches or low area of ground. Overall impression of the 2210 its a great CUT. It handles well during mowing, the loader had the right amount of power for any home owner tasks. The 2210 works especially good when doing tree work. I often use the tractor to push large trees out of roads when fallen during storms with out any problem. Its size makes moving through dense woods very easy.
