Should I buy the 210 loader?

I purchased my 2210 in April of this year. I didn't purchase the 210 loader because my dealer wanted $2,200 for it and would not cut me a better deal. I have had a few projects which could have justified the loader purchased earlier in the year but most of the project have been completed. I told the dealer if he got a 2210 in on a trade I would consider purchasing the 210 loader from him. Finally, I got the call from the dealer saying he has a 2210(with only 50 hours on it) being traded in for another tractor (I think a 3320) he says the other tractor will be in by November 11 or 12 and he would sell me the 210 loader for $1,500 plus $165 to install it or I could install it myself. Is $1,500 a good price or should I asked for a lower price and if the dealer doesn't agree should I walk? I have lived since April without a loader but I always love new toys. By the way, in most people opinion is the loader for these sub-CUT worth all the money?

Should I buy the 210 loader?

I have a 4110, and I use my loader almost as much as I do cutting grass. Always finding new ways to use it, this fall I used it to carry out my old wood burning stove. 400 pounds. I have a havey trailer that fell off the stand. Used the loader to pick up the tonge. the list goes on and on. So a load is worth its weight in gold, well almost.

I have had 2 tractors for a number of years. The one with the loader gets more than double the hours. You don't know the uses until you have one.

Agreed, if you don't have a loader you are losing half the work potential of a tractor. The price you were quoted doesn't sound too bad to me.

Should I buy the 210 loader?

My Loader for my 2210 cost about $2200 on my deal when I purchased. That included the DSV. If they'll sell and install for $1665 that sounds good to me.

Just look closely at the used loader to make sure it is in acceptable condition. The first user is moving up in size. Is that because he overworked the loader on the smaller 2210? Buyer Beware.

Should I buy the 210 loader?

Iím a little surprised that they would be willing to remove the loader from the trade. In my opinion, it will make the trade much harder for the dealer to resell.

I too did not originally purchase a loader with my 2210, but it only took me 2-months to realize my mistake. I had the dealer order a new loader ($1995 + tax) and installed it myself. It was the best money I ever spent.

I think the dealer is offering you a pretty good deal. I would take him up on the offer before he changes his mind. Be sure to either have the rear tire filled or add rear counter/wheel weights.

By the way. I like your posting style over on the "other board". I am impressed that your post has not been edited. Go Tractor Point! ;O)

Should I buy the 210 loader?

I have the 2210 w/ 210 loader. In my opinion, they're a good match and the loader is VERY useful as others have stated. The bucket and / or loader assembly are easy to remove. Mine has only been off my tractor once.

You will need rear balast or you'll flip that unit. I had mine up on two wheels before I 'got around to' getting a balast box. I actually got a JDeere balast box and I believe it was under $200 delivered. The balast box is pretty heavy in it's self and I put a bunch of large rocks in it to add weight.

One other item you'll need is the grill guard. The 210 FEL is supposed to come with it. Pull two pins and it'll fold down to gain better access to the front of the tractor. I was pushing a massive stump with the loader and it rolled back on the front of the tractor. The grill guard saved the radiator and grill area. Unfortunatly, a root 'slapped' the tractor's hood and put a nice dent in it. A new hood is over $400 ! (took it to a body shop and had it fixed for under $100). If you buy the used 210, make sure it comes with that grill guard.

Me? I'd shop around and get my best deal on a new 210.

I'm currently considering a 4110 as I'd like to have a small backhoe. Other than that.. the 2110 w/210 FEL fits the bill perfectly.

Should I buy the 210 loader?

I don't think he'll find too many deals on new 210 loaders, they have been replaced by the 200X and 200CX. If I were in the market for a loader for the 2210 and had a choice between the 210 and the 200X/CX, I would get the 210. That's just a subjective look at the two side by side, and a comparison of the lift numbers, but IMHO, the 210 is the better deal.

Cheers

Should I buy the 210 loader?

I purchased the 2210 and the 210 together in May this year and have used the loader more than any other tool in the house. The quick attach bucket can be removed easily when you need a few more inches of forward clearance when cutting grass near buildings. Actual JD Pallet fork loader attachment can be purchased for retail around $1200. Loader works great with most logging and dirt moving chores. The dealer offer sounds good to me, just make sure you get some weight in the back and maybe the dealer will throw in a I match or Ballast box to sweeten the deal.
