Oil Filters for JD 4000 series

Would appreciate any cross reference to WIX, FRAM or other manufacturer for a replacement oil filter. Reviewing the manual I've not found a JD part number, only reference to 'oil filter' in the replacement guide. Under spec's I find no reference to a part number either. I've checked the thrid-party manufacturers guides at the various parts shops but the 4000 series isn't listed yet. Can order via local JD dealer at a premium. Looking for options! Thanks for any insight offered.

I just changed the oil in my 4200. I can get you the JD number but I dont think it is worth it to cross reference it. I only paid $5.00 at the JD dealer for the filter. I have paid that much for a Wix filter at an Auto store.
Let me know if you want the number.
Randy

I'm not sure about oil filter savings but air filter savings would certainly be worth the effort to find a cross reference. The cold hearted, don't give a damn that I just caused you to drive 30 miles because I made a mistake, by the way that will be an extra $5 in addition to the cost of the wrong filter I gave you atttitude of my JD dealer is reason enough for me to never darken the doorway of the local JD dealer in this lifetime. There has been a lot of talk about replacement filters not meeting manufacturer specs on this board. I strongly suspect that persons with this concern do not go to their local Chevy or Ford dealer and demand genuine OEM filters for their motor vehicles that they depend on to get to work and conduct the day's business. I am thoroughly convinced that my tractor does not care who sold me a filter. As long as the filter performs adequately it is not a concern for me. Even if the ultimate cost is higher, at least I did not have to deal with the far less than likeable person at the local JD dealership.
