 John Deere 6400

I have recenty installed a bush hog brand loader on my JD 6400. Where is the best place to connect to the hydraulic supply and return? I am currently using one of the remote outlets which is not satisfactory. I also have a problem with the 3PH lift arms. They will not move with any setting change. I suspect an electrical problem. Does anyone have any experience with this problem?

The 6400 series uses a pressure, flow, compensated hydraulic system (PFC). There is a power beyond block that can be added to the right hand side of the hydraulic valve stack on the rear of the tractor. If you are using an independent valve that came with the loader, you have to be sure it is a PFC valve. The John Deere loader valve may be the best way to go. It comes with a console mounted joystick control lever, but I am sure it is kind of pricey. The 3ph very well could be an electrical problem. Have you checked all the fuses? You could have a bad stepper motor also. They have been known to get water in them and ruin them. Sensors, wiring, and switches could also be bad. There is a screwdriver slot in the top of the stepper motor that allows you to manually activate the valve. If the hitch works like that, it confirms an electrical problem.
