 Hydraulic Top link Instal

Guys,I have so many questions, but I'll take them one or two at a time. I have many projects on my property, roads, barn/shop, a home site, and I see from all the old posts I have read, that the Box Scraper is a very valuable tool. I will purchase one as soon as I get back home. I have a JD 4400 with fel, any recommends as to size and manufacturer? I also see the requirment for a hydraulic Top Link. How does that instal on my tractor, and how do you control it?

Thanks again
Randy

The hyd. toplink usually is operated via rear exterior hyd. couplers using the tractors valve. If you do not have exterior rear hydraulic couplers installed on your tractor then you will have a choice of purchasing the OEM JD system or an aftermarket system. I would suggest the OEM JD one. The cost is more but you have a JD not a Jinma and the aftermarket systems are not as ascetic designed as JD's.
To know what cylinder you will need you will have to measure the OEM toplink in both the collapsed and extended positions.

I use a Landpride Model 2572 on my 4410, it has seven teeth and cuts six ft. wide. As has been said before if you don't already have a rear hydraulic outlet you'll need one for a hydraulic top link. I've moved lots of dirt with this rig and don't have a hydraulic top link and really never thought I needed one. So my thoughts are, there are lots of good box blades built, but my choice for quality in most any three point equipment has allways been Landpride. Why not just get the boxblade first before spending the money on the hyd. toplink just to see if you really think you need one, you can allways add it later. Frank.

Gentlemen, once again I thank you for your knowledge. I am not sure if my tractor has the hydraulic couplers installed. I'll will check when I get home. I will take hardwoods advice and try it first without the top link to see how it works. I will seek out a Landpride dealer when I get home and pick up the Box model 2572 or its equvilant. I will play and experiment to see how it all works. I am just getting into all of this and this site has been a great source of info for me.
Thanks

Ironpeddler, the setup in the picture link looks as though the entire three point in hydraulic. Is that the case?
