I just got a quote on a 4210 4WD Sync-Shift with R-4 tires and a 420 FEL for 16,026. Add 775 for a Rhino 5' Bushhog. I thought this was a pretty good price. Any Input? Thx

To small of a mower you will be runnung over the grass twice before mowing leaving streaks.

Thanks Art...What size Brushhog would you suggest? I still have about an acre to clear up ( 4total acs) so I'm pretty sold on a BH instead of a MMM. After it's cleared though, it will be just maintaining.

I'm not sure I agree Art,
Not sure a 4210 would run bigger than a 5' brushhog..
I use a 5' on my john deere 850 and my DK 35 Kioti with no problems.

The spec's in the literature show it at it's narrowest setting being 56.3 inches wide. I do believe if it doesn't exceed 60" width with indstrials it sure would be close. I don't know which size to recommend but it might need to be the 6' size to cover the width and give a little break on the width.

I have that sort of problem. The turfs on my Ford track several inches wider than 5'. My 5' snow blower works just fine, but I suspect a 5' cutter wouldn’t be great for mowing. I think that it's not all that uncommon to cut heavy brush with cutters that are narrower than the wheel tracks, but the results wouldn't be like mowing.

A lot of the power required to run a cutter depends on what is being cut and how fast. A tractor that is below recommended minimum HP for a cutter may work OK for grass--especially at slow ground speeds. However, some larger cutters may be too heavy for the 3ph. In addition, lighter shear pins may be called for. Cutting anything heavier than grass might break a lot of shear pins and also cause more wear and tear on the PTO drive and clutch. Irrespective of what's being cut, A larger or heavier duty cutter has more inertia than a light cutter. The PTO clutch has to overcome that inertia each time the clutch is engaged, which also adds to wear and tear.

You might investigate light-duty 6' models of several makes, and several might have recommended minimum HP recommendations suitable for the tractor. For all I know, somebody might make a 66" cutter.
