 1990 John Deere 1070 4WD w/ JD #80 loader-price?

I'm looking at a 1990 JD 1070 4WD with a JD model 80 loader. It *shows* 3570 hours and appears to be in very average shape (fair paint, a few dings, tear in grille cloth, torn seat, etc.). Those shortcomings don't concern me so much as the right front wheel appears to be canted (in at bottom, out at top) about 10-15%. Any thoughts on values, what's wrong with wheel and cost to repair? Thanks.

Gary, it could be several things. That is a high-hour tractor. If you want to get serious about it, I'll take a look at some pictures for you. That front axle housing is very rigid, and the front drive mechanism is composed of several bevel gears very precisely aligned on short stub axles. It is hard for me to envision any way that the axle housing itself could be bent and still drive in 4wd. Let me know and I can advise you what pictures to take. The loader will help as you can lift the front end off the ground to check it out.

Gary;
The problem sounds serious to me. I purchased a 85 750 a number of years ago with low hours. The person I got it from had it out of commission for a while as he had dropped the front end in a hole and bent the 4x4 housing. It took him a while to raise the funds to fix the problem, therefore I suppect the housing is not cheap. Lots of green.
I am suprised that it works. With the age it might be the bearing at the top of the spindle section rather than the housing.
Peters

Sounds serious to me. I have selling these units for 23 years, and it could be a very expensive repair. Value of this tractor should be with those hours in perfect condition shoud be 9-11K. I just purchased on a dealer closeout a JD 970 MFWD W/ loader brand new I can sell for $17850. I can also finance @ 5.9 up to 60 mos. I hope this helps with your question.
