 Pricing for a JD 3320

Hey guys, new to the board here. I am in the process of moving to 31 acres; upgrading from my current 5 acres. I currently have a JD 650 and 67 loader and I don't think that this will be enough tractor for 31 acres and 12 horses. I plan to use the machine everyday for stall cleaning and paddock cleaning as welll as grding my drive way and plowing snow. I have talked to my local dealer and he is saying i need a 3320. I like the dealer, just hesitant to completely trust them so I am here to look for your guys input. I think he may be right on the size but he is giving me a price of $23,000 for a 3320 HST tractor, R4 tires with 330CX loader with 72" bucket and pallet forks. Is this a good price? What have you guys paid for your machines? Also what can I expect to get for a 1985 JD 650 and 67 loader with about 650 hours on it? Sorry for the long post, just kinda overwhelmed with all the options in the compact tractor market. I really apreciate the help and thanks in advance.

Jay

 Pricing for a JD 3320

I was quoted $19,625.00 for a 3320 4WD, hydro, turf tires and 300X loader. Was also quoted $24,165.00 for 4120 with 400X loader, 4WD, turfs and hydro.

The cost for the 300X loader was $2,825.00 and 400X was $3,790.00.

Although it isn't the same equipment, it should give you an idea. He didn't include grille guard, telescopic 3 point lift links, etc. which may be included on your quote. Your price seems a little high.

You might want to join the NTRA or the AQHA. John Deere has a special discount for those associations. 20% off list price for members. The prices arn't negotiable, but will beat any price a dealer can give on his own. I know, I am a dealer in CA. the only restriction is that the machine must be used for horse related work, and it doesn't sound like that would be a problem. Otherwise the price seems about right. The 300CX loader is a better, heavier duty loader than the 300X and is more money. You might even want to go to a larger tractor than the 3320. depending on the jobs you want to do, 31 ac. is alot for 27PTO hp.

The dealers in my local area quote at -20% from list. My understanding is a 3320, turfs and hydro lists at $20,637.00 and he quotd $16,800.00. If you are a good customer as I am, they usually will go slightly more to get the deal signed. I live in a farming community with lots of hungry dealers.
