My 2013 825i John Deere Gator is very hard to shift. The dealer replaced the shift cable and it did not help. I think the problem is excessive idle speed. I backed the idle screw off of contact with the throttle body and adjusted the cable but it still idles too high and will lunge forward if the brake is disengaged at idle. Is there another idle adjustment?

Ask your dealer how many drive clutches John Deere has replaced world wide under warranty because they stick and don't go back to the fully open position at idle. Good test is take the belt off and compress the clutch by hand and see what happens. ....
