6X4 With High Speed Power Problem

I have a 6X4 with 110 hours on it. It is not obtaining full power and can hardly make it up a hill. I have changed the fuel filter, oil and filter, air filter, regapped the plugs and cleaned the spark arrestor. Any ideas what may be wrong?

Is this a newer TH with the 601 air cooled motor or the old 6x4 liquid cooled. If it is an old liquid cooled with 110 hours, I would be going to the carburetor since it had to be sitting for awhile. The main jet could have build up in the bore, should be cleaned out with a tourch tip cleaner. Do the plugs look the same? Could be one of them not firing, coil?, trigger?,primary wiring?

It is the liquid cooler model. It started to exhibit this problem awhile back and then ran okay for a time. Recently it started bogging down again. I will try the main jet cleaning and check the spark to both cylinders. It does run good at idle and low speed. Only problem under load. How do I identify the main jet?

Turn the carb upside down and unscrew the bolt in the bottom. Remove the bowl and the main jet is in the same hole the bolt was in.

Gatoraider,

Thanks for the tips. As it turned out, it was the rear cylinder spark plug. The plug looked and gapped fine but I noticed when I turned it upright, the electrode dissappeared into the plug. Turned upside down it looked and measured normally. Goes to show you, should have checked the plugs more thoroughly.

She back on the job!
