 E 25 CROSSOVER

'Fraid I don't know much about Hinomoto.

Most clutches have a linkage adjustment. The adjustment only affects where in the pedal travel a clutch engages, and is provided mostly to compensate for wear to the linkage and t to the clutch disc itself o a lesser extent. These adjustments do not affect how a clutch works. Ordinarily, clutches are adjusted for around .5" - .75" of free play at the top. The TX or PTO clutch (if provided) may not fully disengage if excessive free play is present.

How a clutch feels of course depends on its condition, but also on the tractor itself. There are dry, wet and hydraulic assisted clutches in single and in double stage types, all of which have a different feel. It's a little hard to say if a feeling like 'not having much pedal' is cause for worry. Hours on the tractor and type of work done are pretty good indication of clutch condition. Fieldwork is usually easy on clutches while loader work is hard on them. Big rotary cutters and snow blowers are hard on PTO clutches. Of course, most every owner who wants to sell a tractor never feathers the clutch--at least in their own minds.

The E25 is similiar to some Masseys. They use different part #'s so one has to compare parts to be sure they are the same. If a new clutch isn't available ,I can have the clutch rebuilt if the hub is good. I can also supply parts out of Japan. I have parts books for it & the Maseys. sheaftractor@coiinc.com
