Im having problems starting my tractor ive already disconnected the fuel rails and i am getting fuel, does any one have any other suggestions. One thing i also notice is i guess its a heater which is mounted behind the fuel pump well i think its a heater not sure but i do remember at times it did use to get hot but now its not could this be causing my promblem. I sure could use a little more troubleshooting skills if any ones able to help please. THANK YOU.

Ether fluid is not hard on diesels when used in moderation. I used to drive a Perkins diesel in a delivery truck. It was equipped with a HotShot ether delivery system which looked like a small propane bottle. On cold days it took many shots or squirts to get it running.

Now, that said, some tractors I hear have flame-operated heater as described above which I would use caution around.
