 Hinomoto Hydraulics

I am trying to get familiar with the hydraulics system on an E18D Hinomoto. It has two piping lines running from the front of the engine to the rear of the tractor. One line is 1/2" (pressure?) and the other is approximately 1" (return?). I am thinking these are the supply and return lines from the pump to the resevoir. I am assuming the 1/2" line supplies fluid the the 3 point hitch controls, which dumps the fluid into the trans-axle, which is supplied back to the pump via the 1" line. Also guessing there is a strainer in the return line somewhere. I am hoping some-one will read this who can confirm this or set me straight with the system. Please help if you can---Thanks

Randy, I wouldn't know a Hinomoto if one fell on me, but some general comments:

-These compacts are similar across brands. So even if your nearest tractor shop has never heard of that one, they should be able to help.

-FELs are useful, but fitting and installing one, especially if you don't know it fits, is not a DIY job for most owners.

-You'd benefit from an English version of the owners, service, or parts manual. Try other owners, or ebay.

Good luck.

Randyshipley,

According to the information I've found, it appears that the Hinomoto E18D was also sold under the Massey name, model 205.

There may be manuals available for the Massey 205. If yours is a 4-wheel drive model, it may be similar to the Massey 205-4.

The Massey 205 was made in Osaka, Japan, by Toyosha, and was produced from 1978-1984.

It has a 20HP engine, with 16HP at the PTO.

From the pictures I've looked at, your E18D is nearly identical to the Massey 205.

Hope that helps.

Joel

Joel---Thank you very much for this info---I found several 205-4's on the net and they certainly appear to be the twin brother to the E18D. I will follow-up with a trip to the local MF dealership to see what info they can provide.---Thanks again for the help!!!
