Need to know trans-hydraulic oil quantity? I've been told that too much will make the oil foam real bad, and that not enough will damage internal parts. Please advise!!

Shelby, check to see if the transmission dipstick isn't marked for a high and low on the hydraulic fluid. I have a E2304 (Hino) and it does....also, if you don't have enough fluid the 3pt probably won't work, if too much...hum, not sure. Jerri

Jerri The E-25 does'nt have a dipstick anywhere except for the engine. The only opening it has is a plastic cap on top of the transmission. Maby it is suppost to have a dipstick there. Thanks for information

Shelby, on mine the dipstick is right next to this filler cap. I am sure you would have seen it. Could you put a rod down this trans opening to guage your fill? If so I would be happy to give you some idea as to how long my guage rod is and how high up the full mark is. Let me know if this is of some use to you.

Take care, Jerri

Jerri, I ordered a copy of a operators manual for a 5030 Allis chalmers. It is a tractor made by Hinomoto. The 5030 is a 2 cyl diesel 26 hp, where mine shows to be a 32 hp. If the manual does'nt help me, I may ask you for the readings.

Thanks Shelby

I have the manual for the Allis-Chalmers 5020 & 5030. The specs state that the 26 HP (5030) tractor takes 6.7 gal of trans/hydraulic fluid. My 5020 has a level plug that can be inspected to see if the level is correct. It is on the right hand side of the tractor next to the PTO lever Manual says "maintain the oil to level plug. Check every 10 hours after engine has been stopped for at least 5 minutes".

I have been doing some heavy work the last couple of days winching boulders with my FARMI logging winch and then loading the boulders into my pickup. A lot of heavy front end loader work has casued a bit more trans fluid to show up on the top of the tranmission casing. The gear shift lever seems to be leaking a bit. The rubber piece that goes around the geear shift is where it leaks. It seems like it could be attached better. Does this seem like a normal point that fluid would come out?

I have received a manual for a 5020-5030 Allis. I found out that I had too much oil in the transmission. I drained it down to the fitting you were talking about by the PTO lever. Seems ok. About your leak on the transmission shifter, I think you are talking about the rubber boot that covers the shift lever. The only thing I can thank of, is that on my boot their is a small hole like a breather hole in the boot. Maby with the excess use of lifting with a front loader, the oil is foaming and coming up into the boot. This is questional. When I first purchased my used tractor, the boot was'nt in place and it leaked, I repositioned it and haven't had a problem. Hope this helps.
