 Fuel injector question

I have an E224. I have had it a week now. It has been running beautifully until yesterday. I went to use it first thing in the morning, and it started right up, but was running really super rich (black smoke) and had no power. I feel it's a stuck (open) fuel injector or 2 causing the problem. Anyone else feel I'm on the right track? Are they easy to disassemble and clean? I can't seem to find a service manual anywhere for this model, but I am very mechanical, and could probably fix it with no problem. Thanks JOhn

Thanks for the quick reply Gregg. No it's fine. In fact I ran it without the air cleaner just to make sure it wasn't an issue.

 Fuel injector question

If the injectors in the Hinomoto are anything like those in my Yanmar, it's pretty straightforward. Spring, check ball, shims. But what might be more challenging than working on the injector, is actually getting it OUT of the head. If you can do that, perhaps a little solvent and compressed air is all you need.

 Fuel injector question

Well I diassembled and cleaned the injectors. Pretty basic job. Put it all back together. It runs a little better, but is still lacking power, and is still pumping black smoke out. The only way I could get it to run a little cleaner was to turn (in) the fuel pressure (?) adjustment on the back of the pump. I turned it all the way in, but it is still running very rich.
Now I have to assume it's a pump issue. Maybe some part of the internal regulator is stuck or broken causing an overpressure condition. DANG WISH I COULD FIND A SERVICE MANUAL FOR THIS THING!!!
