Help I cant get my Woods RD6000 PTO shaft off my Kubota 2910

I finally took the plunge after much debate between the 790 and B2910. For my use I liked the hydrostat better than shifting all the time. I bought a B2910 Kubota and cant get the PTO Shaft off the Woods RD6000. I have the owners manual for the woods and the Kubota out and I cant figure it out. Can anyone out there help me. Thank you.

Paul, need more information. If I understand you, the PTO shaft of the mower is hooked up to the tractor, and you can't get it loose from the tractor? Can you press the little spring loaded pin on the side of the shaft all the way in, then wiggle and pull at the same time. I'm assuming you know about that spring loaded pin because you would have had to press it in to get it hooked up to start with (unless the dealer delivered it already hooked up).

Bird, what kind of pin are you talking about? The only two PTO implements I use on my 2710 have the collar that you have to pull back away from the PTO shaft to get them off. I sometimes have trouble getting them on, but they usually come off pretty easy.

My PTO shaft at the tractor end has a collar with a spring-loaded pin that has to be depressed to get the shaft on or off the PTO drive. I guess that's the pin Bird mentioned, and I thought they were sort of standard, but I guess there could be other type designs.

I have to take the shaft off the implement end of my snow blower to grease some points under the safety shield, and expect I'll have some trouble. Disassemble of the implement end isn't obvious, and I don't recall seeing a dimple in the shaft intended for a puller. I'll probably take off every bolt on the collar and hope there are two halves that split. Other then that, guess I'll have to resort to a puller or a separator fork.

I forgot about the PTO drivelines with the collar. Everything I have has the pin that you press to get it on or off the tractor, but a neighbor has some of those that have the collar all the way around, similar to a quick coupler, and you have to hold the collar back to put it on. And I read the original question to mean it wouldn't come off the tractor. It the problem is that it won't come off the implement at the gearbox, I don't know without seeing it. Some implements have a smooth, round shaft instead of a spline, have a shear bolt through it which has to be removed, then have a snap ring on the end of the shaft that has to be removed before pulling the U-joint off the shaft.

Thanks everyone for the response. Bird was right they delivered the tractor with the woods mower on the back and I could not get the PTO shaft off the tractor end. I had it off in 5 minutes once I knew to look for the pin. It pays to ask for help here. I love the mower and really love the tractor. Thanks for your help.
