I am looking for a rear tiller for my ford 8N tractor. Can anyone suggest a certain type. I have found a couple on the internet, and the implement dealer near our home suggested a 49" Frontier RT 1150, cost of 1975.00. I found a Frontier RT 1160 a little wider on the internet for 1575.00. Any comments????? G.

I think that Tractor Supply Company and other chains like them carry King Kutter and Howse brand tillers. I've found that the KK equipment is fine for non-commercial use. Usually the 60" tillers are about $1100.

Are you sure you can use a tiller on your 8N? Everybody that I know that has tried it (without a Sherman transmission) has said the tractor won't go slow enough to till well. Just what I've heard. We always used our MF 135 for tilling because it is the only tractor we had (until I got my New Holland) that has a low range.

Good luck,
Bill ....

You will find that the ground speed is to fast for a tiller on an "N" series tractor, unless you have the rare and fragile howard gear. A sherman under tranny is no help either.
Good luck...don t. ... ....
