 Cub Cadet 7305

Looking at 1999 Cub cadet 7305 with loader, backhoe, R4 tires, 6ft finishing mower, and disc harrows for $17,500, 81 hours on tractor. Advice on tractor price please.

Sounds like a good buy to me when a new tractors suggested retail is the peice you get a loader, backhoe and finish mower for.

Might have the answer already after reading the above post, but I'll ask anyway. Have a line on a '99 Cub 7305, 476 Loader, Gill pulverizer, Rhino ST63 Tiller. About 1100 hrs on the unit. Ind tires, fronts worn some, backs almost new.
Unit looks a little rough on the exterior, but just used, not abused. No mid PTO, but dealer can add mid PTO and MMM if I want for a good price.

Asking $14,000 (plus gov't share).

Any comments appreciated. I do like the lift height on the loader (it will let me put forks on to reach the loft), although the frame size/footprint is a little bigger than I wanted (limited storage space and a few poorly designed access areas).

Otherwise, I'm looking @ some of the mid sized New Hollands, but around here its hard to get past list price.

Thanks for the help.

Stan

Both the price in the original post and the follow-on from Stan represent great buys. This is validated when you look at the msrp for a new 7305 at $17660, a 476 loader at $5700, and a 408 backhoe at $7000 with bucket. For this model CC, I wouldn't be concerned about its mechanicals if it was properly maintained because they (the tractor that is)usually won't require major overhauls until well into the 2K - 3K hours range. Ask to see a service record or talk to the previous owner about problems. The Woods manufactured 476 and 408, on the other hand, will start to show wear around 500 hours if used commercially. You would expect to look at maybe replacing bucket teeth, bushings, and pins for the hoe. Also those darn Dan Foss single lever control valves and pressure relief valves on the loader have a bad reputation and should be looked at closely. Don't forget to look underneath at all of the joints where transmission, transfer case, etc. come together. A leak may mean a big repair bill - get a warranty if you can! Mitsubishi makes a good tractor, MTD / CC need to work on their after sales service. These look like solid buys, good luck!

Ted thanks for the quick reply.

Seals, casing, etc looked OK. Hydro fluid clear, no burnt odors, same for the engine oil. Antifreeze had no oil floating on it, looked clean too.

Plenty of grease around the pins and such (and not like it was just pumped in yesterday).

Unit has been sitting a while, and no seal leaks (or obvious cleanup attempts). Unit was in use and running when dealer got it - but won't be able to contact prev owner, and no warantee from dealer (although they did sell and maintain it.) Salesman says as far as he knows its OK, but won't check it out w/o someone giving them some money. (suspect this is a repo maybe)

Based on the equip, this was probably a landscaper's unit.

Looks like now its just up to the treasurer (OH BOY,THAT's ME)to come up w/ some $$$, and to get approval from the CFO (yes, I meant my wife). Unfortunately, I'll have to foot the bill, we are a non-profit in ALL senses of the word.

Got a couple other units to look at, but it sounds like I might have to update my profile soon!!

Thanks.
