Hi I bought this loader tractor a few months ago it has the hydrostatic trans hydraulic system is loud when you step on the drive pedal seems worse in 4wd I changed the trans/hydraulic fluid and filter along with the transmission filter bought these from Messicks the filters arent cub brand the parts clerk there said they were the same only MF brand used cub cadet fluid the drive is still noisy and in cold weather it takes for ever to start moving sounds like an automotive power steering pump thats low on fluid . The fluid level is ok though anyone have any ideas.

Do you have the same noise, slow moving problems in low and mid range? Likewise, are your engine RPM's above 1600 when you are experiencing these noises.

I once had a similar problem with my 7275 at about 600 hrs., but was jerky motion. The filter was dirty and had collapsed from the suction. My dealer told me to always use the Cub Cadet filter and be sure of the correct fluid and viscosity.

P.S. If you are running a low RPM in to high of a range with too much load, the tranny is noisy plus the foot pedal is hard to push. Lower range and more RPM's generally makes this go away.

Autosavers1,

There should be a screen in the hydraulic sump. That screen is designed to prevent any foreign matter from entering your hydraulic pumps. When plugged, this screen will also prevent fluid from entering the pumps.

There's quite a bit of discussion in the world of hydraulics concerning whether or not this might actually be more damaging to the pump, than any small amount of dirt that might enter it.

The general consensus seems to be that any screen in the intake side of the pump is a very bad idea.

It sounds to me that your charge pump might be starving for fluid. There is nothing that would prevent this, other than the screen, which is located in the intake side of the circuit.

If you pull the screen out, you may find that it's nearly plugged. Clean the metal screen and replace it.....or remove it. Your call.

Joel
