Has anyone had to add the reinforcement bracket to their tractor? I have a 7235 that I picked up used. I noticed at that time the 4 bolts on the side of the block that mount the front frame had the heads welded together to prevent them from coming loose. Now I see on the frame that those bolts are working (sliding) around some again. Seems like the holes in the frame are wearing oversize. You can see movement when going from forward to reverse. I plan to pull the frame and weld bushings in there to resize them to fit the bolts. I read about a bracket (WM-52581) to stiffen it up, but my local dealers have never heard of it. Once again, sub-par service. Anyone? Thanks, Denny

Sounds like something you could fabricate yourself, likely for a lot less.

I purchased that bracket for my 7275 through my local Cadet dealer. Woods actually built the loader and supplies it to Cadet. Without it, the bolts continue to loosen up and eventually will fall out. Bad things happen if several of them fall out!

Turns out my bracket didn't exactly fit, since I also have the belly mower down under. I work at a machine shop so with a little cutting, grinding and welding we fixed it!!!! Did this a number of years ago and the bolts haven't loosened since.

I believe your tractor frame is slightly smaller than mine so the part number may be different.

I can't find much info on these brackets. Where do they bolt to? The loader bracket may be in my way to attach to the bell housing. I was looking at going from the side of the bell to the side of the engine, and using longer shoulder bolts trough the side frames at the engine. I am a machinist by trade, so fixing the holes in the front side frame should not be an issue. I'm looking for more info to build my own depending on purchase price. Yoop do you remember $? If they are cheap enough I'll save the time. Like I said, I can't get a price from my local dealers. They never heard of this. Thanks

I checked with my local CubCadet dealer. The stiffener Kit WM-52581 is for a 7235 model and lists for $97.63 and is a currently available. My tractor is slightly larger and has a different part number. I haven't looked under there lately but seem to remember that it mounted to the loader sub-frame rather than the tractor housing. It wasn't as large of a component as I originally had expected but has worked. The problem I had in mounting it was some interference with the belly mower lifting bracket.

If you have any problems getting it locally, I'll sell it to you for a $10.00 handling fee above the stated price plus shipping via UPS ground. If you decide to go that route, post a message and I'll give you my toll free phone number connecting to an answering service with 24/7 coverage. VISA and Mastercard are accepted (it costs me about 3% to do credit card orders).

I've misplaced my digital camera, so taking a picture of it is out until it's located. (It's a senior thing and will show up sometime soon-I hope!)

Ha Ha, it's not just a senior thing. If it weren't for the camera in my cell phone, I couldn't tell you where our digital camera is either. Now if only my phone battery had any juice left I could take a picture of the bolts working loose. Better plug it in eh?

I'll be back when I post the pic.

Ok folks. I finally had to take the loader off to put the mower on and figured I had better take care of this loose front end. Boy am I glad I did! I posted the pics #9,10, and 11 under my profile. All of the mounting holes in my frame are toast! I am going to weld them up and redrill them all to the correct size again before I put in the new hardware. As long as I have it apart I figured I would make a stiffener of my own FARMER STYLE and over build it. Wink yeah right I should be able to build something heavier than the woods bracket for cheaper. Let me know what you think of the damages. Better get going cause I can hear the grass growin. Denny

Last week someone else had a problem with broken off bolts and bad tapped holes for a different tractor brand. The discussion was about using heli-coil or E-Z lok thread inserts. That may be a better route than welding.

I never did find my camera, think someone at work had a better use for it than me! Just got a new cell phone with camera. I'll try to figure out how to use it and post a picture of my bracket.

Heli-coils should not be needed. The holes that are worn oversize are not tapped. they are the drilled ones that go through the frame, not the tapped ones in the block. The top two holes in the front of the engine still look good, just no studs in them. I'll know more a little later. I hope to get the rods cut off the bolts heads tonight so I can back them out to remove the frame. Yoop, I found a pic of one of those brackets on line. I still would like to see how you modded yours though. Denny
