You may remember me as diesel_nut from other tractor sites. To tell you the truth I was booted from 1 of them and scolded by another. Some of these tractor sites have become so restrictive it's nuts.
I was pointed to this site from a member at another site.

I have a pretty new GT2554 and had an 1872 for about 6 years.

Welcome to TractorPoint. A lot of folks here are refugees from other sites. Due to the abuse of one individual a few people were appointed as moderators but posters have wide latitude in their discussions. Moderators generally step in when there are personal attacks going on, otherwise it's pretty wide open. Glad to have you here.

Thanks for the welcome.

I will tell you of one incident without mentioning the site.

A guy asked why 2-stroke Lawn Boys were no longer available. I responded by saying it was overly restrictive legislation by the EPA.
They considered that "political".

Unbelievable!

Ole EW you know better than that, don't consider either of us to be good. But there are many who are.

Hey! Welcome!

Lawnboy, wow i remember thinking how cool they were when I was a kid compared to the Sears Craftsman mowers we always had in my teens. Those Lawnboys and I think even Toros were oil mix as I remember.

Welcome, I used to visit that other site. Long time ago.

Lawn Boy; mine just quit after thirty-two years. Used it at my last place to mow about a half acre of lawn but it has been just a trim mower here. After the drive shafts wore completely bare it was more like power assist than self propelled.

In 2000 I purchased a new Ariens walk behind and used the green machine for backup. That lasted until this spring when the differential locked up. Sooo, I fired up the Lawn Boy and it fired itself right back off. Spark is gone, will attempt trouble shooting this winter. I sure miss the two stroke engines for that application. Now will see if this new Honda will last longer than the Ariens.

I was wondering why I'm seeing more 4-stroke engines on new garden equipment.
